Dr. Matthew Hong
Dr. Matthew Hong is a Research Scientist in the Machine Assisted Cognition (MAC) team at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). His research focuses on bringing a human-centric lens to the design and development of AI-based technologies.
Prior to joining TRI, Dr. Hong was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington where he led research on providing feedback on nonverbal communication behaviors to mitigate implicit bias.
Dr. Hong holds a Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Tech, master's in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University, and B.S. in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego.
