Totte Harinen is a Senior Causal Inference Expert in the Machine Assisted Cognition team at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). He works in the intersection of causal inference and machine learning to develop models and algorithms that are generalizable and interpretable. His passion is to help humans and computers understand causality.
Before coming to TRI, Totte worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Uber, developing internal and external tools for causal inference, including the popular Causal ML open source library. His Ph.D. in philosophy from King’s College London focuses on the problem of causal explanation in the sciences.
