Andrew is a multidisciplinary roboticist who works with several of the Robotics Dexterous Manipulation teams at TRI to develop new robotics capabilities. He specializes in sensory, interfaces, and actuation, but typically covers the breadth of a full robotics "stack": from hardware, electrical, and firmware development, to integration and algorithmic software.
Andrew has been with TRI since 2018, before which he was the Electronics Engineering Manager and Lead, creating “the first social robot for the home," Jibo. Prior to this, Andrew was working as a part of iRobot's Research and Advanced Systems and Technologies groups to create new robotics technologies and capabilities. He enjoys all sorts of cross-training exercise and tolerates running primarily as a precaution in the event any of his creations become sentient.
